BIM was not used in the planning project for the Koralm Tunnel project. However, ÖBB's aim was to hand over a state-of-the-art as-built model to the maintainer. For this reason, it was decided in the course of the tender for GU2 - technical tunnel equipment that the latter should create an as-built model of the shell and expand it to include the technical equipment.

In addition, a collision and quality check should be carried out during the work and installation planning, especially in the intensively equipped cross-passages, to improve the quality of planning. Changes in the course of execution must be followed up and third-party planning data integrated. Supplementary planning documents that are not derived directly from the model are to be linked to the model, creating a structured data model of all relevant information for maintenance. Further links to the maintainer's databases must also be created.

On completion of the project, an as-built model of the tunnel shell and equipment will be handed over.

As ODE, we were able to support the project as part of the tender for GU2. The services provided included the adaptation and extension of the ÖBB standard AIA as well as the specific definition of the services to be provided by GU2. Another focus of our services was the tender support itself (development of suitability and award criteria, definition of requirements for key personnel, etc.).
