Gramatneusiedl station will be made more attractive and modernised between 2022 and 2024 in order to attract even more people to environmentally friendly public transport by rail with punctual and efficient rail operations and an attractive station.

Gramatneusiedl station is located on the Ostbahn railway on the Vienna Hauptbahnhof-Bruck an der Leitha section and is therefore on one of the most relevant European rail connections. It is also an important commuter station for the surrounding communities and a neuralgic point for freight transport in the region.

In order to become more attractive for rail customers and at the same time continue to handle passenger and freight traffic efficiently and comfortably, the station is being remodelled, made more attractive and adapted to the requirements of current and future operations.

To this end, for example, the station tracks are being extended, the entry and exit speeds increased and the points configurations optimised. In addition, a new electronic signal box will be built and the existing station reception building will be demolished.
