In Vienna - Favoriten, a new, diverse urban district with a high proportion of greenery is being built on the former Siemens premises. The new district connects the “Sonnwendviertel” with the Bohemian Prater. Central to the new district is the careful use of resources, adaptation to global warming, environmentally friendly mobility and plenty of green and open space.
Around 1,100 apartments will be created at the previously purely commercial location. Two thirds of these are subsidized housing and one third is privately financed. This enables high-quality yet affordable living. In conjunction with a variety of commercial areas, local amenities and the construction of an all-day elementary school and a kindergarten, a balanced mix of residential and living space is created.
