Schönbrunn Zoo is planning to build a new aquarium. The building will be built on a slope between the Indian rhinoceros enclosure and the rainforest house. Due to the historical visual axes of the Schönbrunn Palace Park, the majority of the structure will be located underground. In the future, visitors will walk uphill along a path along the different aquariums until they reach the water surface into a mangrove area. From there, ramps lead downhill again and the visitor goes back under the surface of the water until they reach the large shark tank and the exit.
