Digitalisation in the construction industry

What is digitalisation in the construction industry?

The construction industry is currently making great efforts to catch up in the process of digitalisation. For a long time, there was hardly any need for optimisation in the construction industry to upgrade in terms of digitalisation.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) has given things a boost: the new possibilities of creating models instead of two-dimensional plan representations, improved communication and collaboration, as well as enhanced quality assurance and the security of receiving consistent project information are the main advantages that are currently making construction projects faster and also easier to manage.

The BIM method is therefore a key component of digitalisation in the construction industry. The areas of risk management, contract implementation and the optimisation or better use of resources are also part of any digitalisation strategy - BIM is also used to support these areas.

As with any innovation, the introduction of BIM in a company requires an initial investment. But the benefits for subsequent projects outweigh this! The digitalisation of internal processes and overarching workflows in projects initially leads to an increase in efficiency and consequently to cost savings.

The implementation of the topics to be considered are extensive. We are a qualified partner for your digitalisation process with our comprehensive knowledge gained in practical application in projects (building construction and civil engineering), in research & development and in teaching, and we provide competent and long-term support for your projects!
